Welcome to the first episode of Reaching Hearts Changing Lives, a podcast I created to honor ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Your host, Linda Schoonover is an author, speaker, attorney and former judge. She has written two Amazon best-selling books, An Illusion of Normal, a memoir about a child growing up in home tormented by mental illness and Divorce Made Simple, a self-help book to aid in avoiding the most common pitfalls of divorce.
Reaching Hearts Changing Lives is about ordinary people who are living their lives with extraordinary purpose. The show is produced to entertain, educate, and inspire listeners who want to know how they too might change their lives to make a difference in the lives of others. You’ll hear interviews with authors, speakers, missionaries, foster moms, radio and film producers, life coaches, and entrepreneurs who are using their gifts and talents to make a difference with their message, their service, or their product.
Linda Schoonover launched the podcast as a way to inspire others that despite what we may see in the media, there are people who display extraordinary courage, compassion, and creativity in order to make a difference in other peoples lives. A former judge, who has seen it all, the show is her attempt to remind herself and to encourage and inspire others that there are endless ways we can contribute in some small way every day to make the world a better place.
Linda is a professional speaker, best selling author with more than 35 years experience as an attorney and judge. For more than 20 years she was senior attorney and owner of the Law Office of Linda Schoonover, P.A. in Seminole County, Florida, and practiced family law, probate, estate planning, appellate and corporate law. She was Board certified in marital and family law and a Supreme Court-appointed civil, family and appellate mediator. In 2010, she self-funded and self-managed her own two county judicial race, and won a contested seat as a circuit judge. During her term as a circuit judge, she ruled on civil, family, juvenile, dependency and probate matters.
Since leaving the bench in 2015, she has written and published two best selling books—a memoir, An Illusion of Normal, the true story of a child’s survival in a home tormented by mental illness and Divorce Made Simple, the ultimate guide by a Former Family Judge. They are both available on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback. She is working on several additional books about other family and social issues that are plaguing the United States.
She is also an administrator and guide for more than 400 women lawyers with family law practices around the world.
Linda seeks to make a difference in the world. Her faith is a light to her and to others who know her. You may learn more about her at Lindaschoonover.com; or on Facebook as Linda Schoonover-author.
